10/5/2020 Had surgery to implant a cardiac monitor. 10/6/2020 Noticed a lump on a lymph node under my left arm. Thought it was possibly due to surgery because I was very sore and swollen. 3 weeks later, swelling is going down, but lump hurts. Saw my Internist and she said to call the heart surgeon. Heart surgeon says to get a mammogram. Internist orders a mammogram with ultrasound. I did them. 11/11/2020 Had another mammogram and ultrasound with 4 biopsies. 11/13/2020 This is Friday the 13th and it has lived up to its reputation. The doctor called me and said I have Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (breast cancer) and it has spread to my lymph node. He recommended a double mastectomy and referred me to Hope Cancer Center in Tyler. 11/16/2020 I gave this a lot of thought over the weekend. A lot.
