5/31/23 A lot has happened in the past couple of weeks. I haven't heard squat on my sleep study - I mean my 'lay in bed awake all night study'. I had my YAG laser procedure done on both eyes. I was sitting upright in a chair that wouldn't move, put my chin on a tiny platform, and my forehead against a bar. No straps, no nothing. He told me to stare straight ahead and not to blink. Every so often he'd let me blink and boy, oh, boy, was that a relief! He blasted my left eye first and I wasn't sure I could hold out long enough without blinking, but I made it. My right eye took a good deal longer than my left eye and I never, in a million years, thought I could stare straight ahead without blinking that long. He had numbed my eyes and dilated them, big time. I made it through and wished they'd given me a Pina Colada or something beforehand. Gosh, I was nervous this time. I wore sunglasses the rest of the day and was as...

5/17/23 It’s Wednesday. A lot has happened since I wrote last. First, I’m feeling better, so this is good. I went to see the eye surgeon at 7:15 AM on Tuesday morning. He agreed that I can’t see a dang thing and I need to have laser surgery called YAG, and I cannot wait three months to do it. So, he scheduled it for next Thursday, the 25th. I’ll have it done sometime in the afternoon. He said it would probably take a few days for my vision to recover. We shall see. They dilated my eyes, so I couldn’t see squat the rest of the day. My next appointment was with the cardiologist for my echocardiogram. I thought everything was going smoothly, but in the middle of it, she stopped, and said I would have to have an IV. The radiation made things to dense for the ultrasound to get a good picture, so she put in an IV and put in some kind of gel with a bunch of teeny weenie bubbles in it. Apparently that worked, and we went on with the exam. She called in a nurse at one point because ...

5/14/23 It’s Mother’s Day. I hope everyone is having a wonderful day. My visit to the pulmonologist did me no good. He told me to go see the cardiologist. I’m already scheduled for an echocardiogram on Tuesday, and then I see the cardiologist next week. I went back to the eye doctor for my check up and they were disappointed. Not as much as me. My pressure is good and there is no infection, etc. However, my vision is worse yet. She was a bit concerned at how rapidly my vision is deteriorating, so I have an appointment at 7:15 AM on Tuesday with the surgeon. I didn’t get out of bed until 5 PM on Friday. I was so ungodly tired. My body felt so heavy. I coughed all night Friday night, so I took it easy on Saturday. I am feeling a bit better today, but not normal. I don’t know what got ahold of me this time. I can’t seem to catch a break here. I am a bit down in the dumps. I have several doctor appointments this week, so maybe they can figure out what’s going on.

5/6/23 After 15 days, I took another Covid test and it was negative. I’m feeling much better, but I’m still so tired. I don’t know how long this will last, but when I’m tired, I just rest. I’m doing more normal things everyday instead of sleeping all day, so that’s real progress. My vision is no better, but I have an eye appointment this week, so perhaps I can get some more answers. I took my laundry out to hang on the line today and it was rather comical. I’m really glad our backyard is protected from viewing by the neighbors, but even though I am aware of this, I still looked around to see if anyone had seen me. I would get a clothespin in my hand, grab a towel, then reach up and attempt to hang it on the line. I looked like a circus bear waving hello, while trying to get the clothespin on the line. I would miss it and the towel would fall to the grass. I’d pick it up and look around to see if anyone saw it, then I would do the same thing all...

5/1/23 Today’s Monday, and the first day I felt like posting anything. We drove to Dallas on the 14th to fly to Miami and we got there in two hours and 40 minutes. However, that’s when we began to circle the airport like a giant buzzard looking for roadkill. We circled until we were fixing to run out of fuel, so we flew to Tampa to get more. We sat on the tarmac there after we refueled and waited until the weather cleared in Miami. No one got off. No one got on. The flight attendants had to explain to us again how to fasten our seatbelts since no one had been in a vehicle for the past 50 years. We flew back to Miami and we made our two hour and 40 minute flight in only five hours. We took a shuttle to the Doubletree and checked in. The concierge asked us if we would like a shuttle to the cruise docks in the morning. We said yes and filled out all the paperwork and got a receipt. We were downstairs at 9:30 AM to catch our shuttle. We waited until 10 AM, and he still hadn’t sh...
