9/26/23 I had a busy week again last week. My pulmonologist got bit on the foot by a copperhead snake the morning of my appointment, so I had to see his PA, instead. She was horrible and I will never see her again. I am not going to go into detail, she was a real piece of work. Long story, short, I turned my CPAP machine back in. I saw my primary care doctor on Friday for my Medicare wellness exam. You’ll be happy to know that I passed. And I got my flu shot while I was there.  I was waiting for Friday to come around, because that would’ve been 10 days since my magical blood test at the oncologist office. No messages. I figured I’d hear something on Monday, but again, nothing. They said it would take a week to 10 days to get my results  And the guy finally told me this morning he made a mistake. It takes a week to 10 days to get subsequent results, but the initial workup takes 5 to 6 weeks to get the results. 5 to 6 weeks. I wish they had told me that in the beginning, ...
9/15/23 Today is Friday. I had a very busy week. I can see a little bit better now, but my vision is 20/50 in my left eye and 20/60 in my right eye. It needs to be 20/70 to be legal to drive. I cannot read street signs. So, driving my usual routes, is fine. But, if I have to go anywhere new, it’s bad. I went to my eye doctor here on Tuesday and he said he cannot do anything to correct my vision for another month. We have to wait for my right eye to heal completely. I will have another laser surgery done to try and correct my vision. This has been a nightmare for the past six months, and the saga continues. I still cannot possibly drive at night. The car lights blind me. I still have to put drops in my eyes, and that will continue till the end of the month, when I go back to Dallas to see the retina specialist. Yesterday, I went to the orthopedic surgeon and had two more injections in both hips for my bursitis. Those are painful, not any fun at all, but the pain is gone today, and...
9/7/23 Well, yesterday was a horrible day. We were gone for eight hours on our trip to Dallas. I saw the doctor for seven minutes. We left a little early because of potential traffic issues in Dallas, and it was a good thing. We needed the extra half hour. My doctor, however, was running late. We sat there for three solid hours for my seven minute visit. Then, it was rush-hour in Dallas and the traffic everywhere was horrible. There were wrecks all over the place. We thought if we stopped and got a bite to eat, the traffic would clear up and we could head on home. Wrong.  Traffic did not clear up at all. It took us three hours to get home. I was so tired and irritated last night! Apparently, my eyes are healing up nicely. It’s the stitches in my eye that are giving me grief and I just have to wait for them to dissolve. It could take a couple more weeks! I was not happy to hear that. I can put drops in now, and that eases up the pain a little bit. I can bend over now, and can...
9/2/23 Well, I can see a little bit now, however, not well enough to proofread this post. Once again, I am just talking into my iPad. My eyes a little bit better, but after six days, I would expect it to be a whole lot better than it is. It still hurts, things are still moving, I feel the stitches in my eye, etc. The good thing is, the big bubble in my eye is moving downward. So I can see out of the top half of my eye the best. David took me to the hairdresser today to get my hair washed. It felt wonderful. It is most comfortable to have my eye closed. I am unable to close my right eye and keep my left eye open, so I have to close both of them. If it was my left eye, I can close it while I keep my right eye open. So, anyway, I mostly just sit with my eyes closed. I can read the headlines in the newspaper, but I cannot do my puzzles, paint, color, Crosstitch or much of anything. I am getting very, very tired of this. It does not hurt when I sleep, so I look forward to bedtime. eve...
