Today is Saturday and both David and I had our second COVID vaccinations today. We had an appointment and it went slicker n' snot. No lines, nothing. Just walked in and sat right down. Pretty cool. David had no symptoms last time. My arm was pretty sore for several days and I was really fatigued the second day. So, we'll see if anything happens this time.
I rode home in the 5th wheel on Thursday. All snuggled in bed. It was bumpier than the cab of the truck, but the mattress and all the pillows were really forgiving, so it turned out to be the best option for traveling 213 miles. It was pretty cold, tho...... I was fully dressed in long sleeves and jeans, had on my jacket, was inside flannel sheets, a blanket and a really thick comforter. I was contemplating doubling up the comforter over me about the time we rolled into the driveway - it was that cold.
David unpacked 9/10th of the RV and cleaned it - inside and out. Even put some stuff on the roof. He did the laundry and I put away most of the food inside. Then I laid down again. I was pretty useless. He got us some groceries today, so we're good for awhile. We've had 3 meals brought over to us since we've been home and have asked others to hold off for awhile. Both David and I together can scrape up a meal, so we're not starving, and we will probably long for some help with food in the near future.
My arm is still awfully sore and I couldn't raise my hand in class and ask to be excused no matter what I tried. I would sit and pee at my desk. Good thing I'm not still in school...
I got a haircut on Friday and she shampooed my hair. OMG. That felt wonderful! I still can only wash it with one hand and I'm not very efficient. It will be my last haircut for a very long time, I'm afraid.
I have a 10:00 a.m. appointment with my local oncologist on Monday and will have a battle plan at that time. I ordered a few hats online a couple days ago and they should arrive in plenty of time. I'm ready to do this. I made an error in an earlier post. I relied on MD Anderson's math on my pathology report, and it was incorrect. 43 lymph nodes were removed. 34 had cancer.
A couple of people have left very thoughtful comments on this site. I get an email when someone leaves a message and I can read it right then. However, several comments were from unknown individuals. Please, please, leave something to let me know who you are. I love hearing from people and your messages make me smile. I picture your faces as I read them and when I have no idea who it's from, it's sad. Get credit for your composition! Sign your autograph!
Patty, your sense of humor makes me smile. You are such a brave trooper!
