4/28/21 - Wednesday

Last night was a real buggar.  I fell asleep around midnight and woke up with my heart racing at 2 a.m.  I could not go back to sleep.  I moved out to my recliner, but even that didn't help.  I sat and did my puzzles till the newspaper came at 6 a.m., then read it and did the puzzles in it.  I cleaned up the kitchen and watered my plants outside.  I tried to keep busy till 9:00 when the doctor's office would open.  Last night I broke out into lots more splotches on my skin.  Over 60 spots.  That's when I quit counting, anyway.  Some of them broke open and some are 1/2" in diameter.  They're all over my chest, arms, back, even some on my face now.  Lovely lesions.  They're SO becoming.  The doctor called in more Rx for me and David went to pick them up.  I'm back on steroids, Benadryl, and something else, whose name I've already forgotten.  She said I'm having an allergic reaction to the chemo.  It's built up in my system and my body is throwing a fit.

I have no idea what my next step is going to be.  I will see the oncologist on Monday and find out if I'm having chemo on Tuesday at all.  Gads.  There seems to be something screwy every week with me.  I'm on day 12 with this stupid cold, too.  It's getting better, but my nose is totally raw now.  I just can't catch a break.  So, with only 2 hours of sleep last night, I'm fixin' to head to bed and give it my best shot tonight.  I took a 45 minute nap this afternoon and that helped a lot.

If I can keep my heart rate down, I'll sleep.  But, when it jumps up 60 beats a minute more than normal, my chest hurts, I break out into a heavy sweat, and just wait it out.  So, I'm hoping it will behave itself tonight and I can get some much needed shut eye.

I don't know why, but most people are shocked when they find out what a terrible electrician I am.
