5/26/21 - Wednesday

My brain is still fried today.  I slept 4 hours last night and tried to take a nap this afternoon, but only slept for about 15 minutes.  Between the lawn mowers and power washing going on, it was hopeless.  I'm better than yesterday, for sure, but not turning any cartwheels yet.  That would be a Kodak moment, wouldn't it?

I was up early and got into my pressure suit for my hourly routine.  I had it on for 1/2 hour when the power went out.  I was just sitting reading the paper, so I didn't really care.  Didn't need a light or anything, so I just kept reading.  After a few minutes, I realized my arm was hurting.  Well, since my brain is on hiatus, I forgot the pressure machine needs electricity.  Duh.  The power went out when the suit was fully inflated and now my arm is in a full-length vice.  Of course, when I got the machine, it had a manual with it.  I read it and learned about the whole thing, however, when I got to the section on 'what to do in case of a power failure', I skipped that part.  I figured the odds were slim that the power would ever go out when I had that thing on.  So, the manual has been filed in my office and I'm stuck on the couch in the den.  I used the emergency zipper and popped myself out and then wondered what was going to happen when the power came back on.  Well, no worries.  At least I'm free and the feeling is starting to come back to my arm.  I did manage to reset the thing when we got power back and finished my session.  I had to manually deflate the thing first, tho.  Like a pool toy.

I got some breakfast and then went to my office to file yesterday's mail.  I heard David yell from the backyard and then pound on the window for me to come.  I found some shoes and went to the backyard where he was attempting to rescue a rabbit from the pool.  It did not want to be rescued, especially with a Border Collie hovering at the edge.  Who do you think chased the bunny into the pool in the first place?  Yeah, the dog.  Who I'm trying to catch and hold so it doesn't kill the bunny when it gets scooped out.  David scooped it out once and it promptly jumped back in the pool.  This is where the term 'dumb bunny' came from, I'm pretty sure.  He grabbed it by the ears and put it outside the fence and it ran away.  The dog was nothing short of dismayed, to say the least.

I walked into the kitchen just a while ago and nearly fell.  Gave me a fright.  The floor is covered in water.  What the?!?  Oh, yeah, David is power washing the porch and I reckon he did the windows and door while he was at it.  The rug is soaked, too.  So, I go find some towels and start mopping it up.  I tend to get dizzy when I bend down and then get back up, so this job was a challenge.  I hung up the rug and towels and called it good.  Gads, I'm tired.  Too much excitement for me today.  My body is revolting.  I'm going back to the couch.

You know, some days I amaze myself.

Other days, I look for my phone while I'm talking on it.
