Wednesday. Chemo day now. 1:40 p.m., to be exact. I'm going to update this blog now, because I will be sick after chemo. I got some good sleep last night, which was badly needed. I woke up 3-4 times, but could go right back to sleep. Got at least 9 hours of sleep!
My infection has not improved since yesterday and the swelling has not gone down at all. That's a bit disappointing, to say the least. My arm pressure sleeve/machine thingy is keeping the fluid out of my arm, but my torso is a staging site and it's not moving on like it should.
David will drive me to chemo today cause I'm not up to that task yet. He'll just drop me off and I'll call when I'm nearly finished and he can head back that way to pick me up.
There are so many things that I want to do, that need done, but I'm supposed to be resting. It's severely testing my patience not to get any chores done. I did open the mail today and pay the bills. It was stacked up on my desk waaaay too high for comfort. Friends and neighbors brought over food yesterday, so we're good for several days. We are SO blessed to have such good friends!
I can't remember if I wrote about how I ended up in the hospital in a previous post, or not. We think it was from a gnat bite on my lower left leg. I killed the gnat when I saw it on me, but I did get bit. A couple of days later, well, wham. I've got next to nothing to fight off a bacterial infection, so have to be very careful. They are very rarely transmitted from person to person, so I don't worry there, but insect bites can be deadly. My white count rose substantially after I got that shot in my abdomen, but they told me it would be short-lived. I don't know if I will have labs prior to chemo today, or not.
I'm back on my computer today, so have some important info for ya'll.
Note for you moms with young children:
Good moms let you lick the beaters when baking something yummy.
Great moms turn them off first.
Note for you older folks:
Anyone that says they can do the same things at age 65 that they did when they were 25, weren't doing squat at age 25.
