6/13/21

Today is Sunday and I was hoping to be released tomorrow, but it appears that will not happen. We just can’t seem to get a handle on this infection and now I’m coughing. I had a CAT scan of my chest earlier today and I’m scheduled for an MRI of my shoulder this evening. I can’t remember what I wrote yesterday, so please excuse any duplicates. The  oncology nurse was allowed to use my port, so that has been extremely helpful this whole time. I don’t have to get stuck much anymore. I’m getting shots in my stomach to prevent blood clots and I got a different kind of shot in my stomach to help boost my blood.

I am very, very tired, and fall asleep at the weirdest times. last night was horrible. I had a reaction from the pain medicine and itched for  hours. They kept pumping Benadryl in me to try and alleviate some of the itching. They increased my Benadryl dose today and it has helped. Five different doctors came to see me today and it looks like they’re all on the same page, so I’m confident I’m getting the best care.

Tonight should be better. I think we’ve got a handle on the hives and itching and they’re going to give me something to help me sleep. I feel like one whole, good nights sleep is the exact thing I need right now.

I am loopy and can’t remember what I wanted to say this evening. I am quite sure there was more important stuff to share, but I’ll be danged if I can remember anything else.

Oh, yeah, I will not be having chemo on Tuesday. Will have to see how I do. I may not have any more chemo at all. My white count is down. It had gone up a little and my count on Tuesday right before chemo was 3.2. Yesterday it was 2.8. And this morning it was 2.0.
