It’s Wednesday. I had trouble getting to sleep last night, so it made for a rather tiresome day today. I did get a 20 minute nap in this afternoon, and that helped a lot. I went to MD Anderson this morning for a CAT scan. I left here at 10 AM and got back at 1:30 PM. It was supposed to be a routine CAT scan of my lungs to see if the nodules have grown or not. They said they couldn’t access my port unless it had been put in at MD Anderson. I had already discussed accessing my port with them last week when I was there for a different appointment. They said that would be no problem. Well, they asked for my card that I keep in my wallet, that has all the information about my port. I gave that to them and then they had to contact the doctor that put it in last February 8 when I was still in Tyler. Then they had to do a chest x-ray to make sure it was in the right place. Then, I eventually had my CAT scan. So, my two hour appointment, grew. What an ordeal. Nothing is easy. Nothing is simple anymore.
I came back to the RV, had some lunch, then Jessica came to visit me. We went to the grocery store together. It was the first time I’ve been inside a grocery store in a very long time. I sure didn’t miss it. She help me stock up with some food and we came back here and unpacked it.
She stayed and visited with me all evening, we had dinner together here in the RV, then she headed home around 10 PM or so. It was sure nice seeing her. I hated to see her leave.
I have physical therapy tomorrow morning at 10:30 AM. My port is pretty tender tonight. Must be from all that crap they put in me. I almost didn’t get to have the CAT scan at all. They drew some blood to test my kidney function before hand. I flunked that test, but I wasn’t too far off. They called the doctor with the results and I was close enough to go ahead and have it done. Whew. That was close.
Do you know how weird it is being the same age as old people?
Today, I learned something important about my little toe. It is designed specifically to geo-locate furniture in low light conditions.
Talk about being the same age as old people. I talked to my doc about being able to feel the weather coming in my body and asked her if she believed any of that or was it just crazy old people? She said she believed it. Wait. Now I'm one of the crazy old people! Dang weather.
