It's Tuesday and I'm finally feeling closer to normal. My holiday was awesome. Just awesome. We had lots of friends and family over for a bar-b-q, swim party, and then fireworks that were out of this world. We've never had a display quite like the one we had on Sunday night. It's was marvelous. The finale was a box that weighed 55 lbs. and had 260 tubes inside. I didn't swim, or cook, or move lawn furniture, set up tables, etc. I sat and supervised. I was available for questions and I got to visit with most of our guests. I gave it my best shot, but yesterday, as soon as the kids left, I went to bed. Slept till 5:30 p.m. I was wiped. I would do it all again, too. I had such a good time.
We had special celebration cakes and well wishers and lots of smiles. I am still amazed on a regular basis, the love I feel from family and friends. I am SO blessed. And.... no one had to visit the ER. So, the weekend was a huge success.
I am not so tired today, but I have taken it very slow. I have no appointments this week and it feels strange to be at home every day. That hasn't happened in a very, very long time. I have diverticulitis. I could be as famous as the Pope this week. I'm watching it carefully and my doctor sent me all my records to take down to MD Anderson next week. I have quite a list of things I'm gonna need. We will leave Sunday and be back home Wednesday evening for this first trip.
We lost cable, phones and internet yesterday mid-day and didn't get them back till this afternoon. So, it was puzzle time for me. Poor David didn't know what to do without TV, tho. If you tried to call the house, I'm sure you got some recording or heard something odd. We're back up and running now.
People who wonder if the glass is half-full or half-empty are missing the point......
The glass is refillable.
SO happy to hear you had a marvelous 4th!! And even better that you have a week to take it easy before it all starts back up. Praying the diverticulitis is resolved quickly. I believe that is the same thing Trav had many years ago. Hugs!
