I'm back from my cruise. We had a good time, even though I couldn't do much. I did get to snorkel in Mahogany Bay one day. I tuckered out kinda early, but it was worth it. It rained in Cozumel, so snorkeling was out that day. I slept quite a bit and finished my novel, so I count it good. I started my new cancer drug today, so we'll see how that goes. My thyroid meds were adjusted and I haven't had labs since then, so I'm not sure how I'm doing with that, either. I sleep a lot these days - just can't seem to stay awake all day. I sleep around 12 hours/night, too. Don't know why. My lymphedema is getting worse in my torso. Hurts like a buggar. Don't know why. My spinal stimulator has gone berserk and I had to turn it off today. I can't adjust the intensity. Don't know why. The tech is scheduling a visit for me. I'm throwing up some. Don't know why. My stomach cramps nearly every day now. Don't know why. I don't have my scans for another 3 weeks down at MD Anderson, so the wait feels like forever.
I was hoping to be bouncing back by now, but it turns out I'm just scheduling more doctor appointments. Maybe by January I'll be bouncing. I'll bring in the new year with a bang. That's a good plan.
My luggage got caught on a crack in the sidewalk right in front of the ship. It went down and took me with it. A horde of good samaritans helped me up and I felt like an idiot. David was a little ways in front of me, turned around and saw I was missing, and found me getting helped up. He made me walk in front of him after that. Go figure. The good news is: I just got off a 7 day cruise and didn't gain an ounce. Ha! I'm good.
I did get to tell a joke on the ship. A staff member stuck a microphone in my face and I delighted a few hundred people in the showroom.
I was standing in front of the mirror the other day. I told David that I felt I looked old, fat, and ugly. I could sure use a compliment.
He said my eyesight was dang near perfect.
He never knew what hit him.
