3/1/22 It's Tuesday. I had a very old friend pass away yesterday. I'm still good friends with her sisters and my thoughts and prayer are headed their way this trying week. Tomorrow is the day my mom died 7 years ago. It doesn't seem that long and I still miss her terribly. She's in my mind so very often. She died 3 days after we had my sister's funeral service. That was a hard week. Sorry for the downers. I shouldn't have begun with that, I reckon. I'll just have to say something cheery at the end, so your spirits are raised.
I had my eye appointment yesterday. They dilated my eyes (they told me they were going to), and they said it would last 4-6 hours. It lasted 14 hours and then I went to bed. When I woke up, they were normal. I couldn't see squat all day yesterday. Now I have to have another test. It's called a carotid doppler. The cardiologist scheduled it for later in the month. I tried to get them to sneak it in tomorrow because I'm going there for an echo and a PET scan of my heart, but they said they could only get me in if there was a cancellation. So far, nothing. It's a test to check the blood flow to my head. I see flashing lights in my eyes sometimes and sometimes they last quite awhile. She said I'm having occular migraines. I haven't googled it yet, but I don't have headaches. I guess I have eye-aches. Ha!
I'll be at the cardiologist for a couple hours and need a driver, so it's gonna be David to the rescue again. He loves sitting and waiting for me. I'm pretty sure. Sorta. Ok, maybe not so much. No caffeine or alcohol today, tonight, or tomorrow. Nothing to eat after midnight. My appointment isn't until 1:00 p.m. tomorrow, so that's a long time to go without wine or chocolate. Geez. That's a lot to ask.
My back is getting better, but it's not grand. The incision is still seeping a bit and my skin is red and raw around the steri-strips. It looks angry. Not infected, just angry. I've got my stimulator on another program, so we'll see how this one goes. I still can't stand for very long, but it's still pretty early in the game, so I'm still optimistic.
David took us to vote this morning and we rode in the truck. Big mistake. It's only about 1-1/2 miles to the voting place, and there's only 2 stop signs on the way, but I couldn't wait to get out of that truck. Hoo-boy! It's a bit rougher than my Cadillac and my back didn't like the ride at all.
When my back gets better, I'll be able to walk and ride my recumbent bike. Hopefully, soon. Some of my friends exercise every day, meanwhile I'm watching a show I don't like because the remote fell on the floor.
Mirror, mirror, on the wall.....
What the Hell happened?
