6/23/22 It’s Thursday. If we can, let’s all try and hit the rewind button and start this day over. I started out at 8:20 AM at the podiatrist. The first thing he did, was take about 3/4 of my big toenail off of my left foot. Then he kind of sanded it down with a little drill so it wouldn’t catch on stuff. I thought it was ugly before. I was wrong. It’s ugly now. It still kind of caught on my sock, so he put a Band-Aid on it and I was good to go. Got to be the weirdest thing that happened to me all day.  Next, he took a look at my right foot. I have three stressed metatarsals that are trying to regenerate their own bone. Apparently, those three think they’re already broken, and they are not. He said they could break at any moment tho, so if I’m going to be standing or walking for any length of time, I have to wear my boot. The rest of the time, I have to wear my good tennis shoes with the new orthopedic inserts he gave me today. They’re very comfortable…… I’m supposed to wear...
6/22/22 Is Wednesday. I went to physical therapy yesterday for my hips. Tomorrow, I have a podiatrist appointment first thing in the morning, then the spinal stimulator guy, then physical therapy in the afternoon. Today, I had bloodwork and then I saw the oncologist. Starting chemo pill again. I will start it a week from today, but only half dose. I have to go in every two weeks for bloodwork and see the oncologist. If I do OK, I will do that for two months. After that, I only have bloodwork once a month if I’m still doing OK. My red blood count is low, but my white count made it into the normal range for the first time in a very long time. It’s not too far into the range, though, so will have to keep an eye on it. I had a cancer antigen test today also.  It flagged high, but that report didn’t come in until 4:30 PM, so I couldn’t ask the oncologist about it. She said it would come in late in the afternoon then she would see the results after I was gone. it has more than tri...
6/20/22 It's Monday.  I had a lovely week last week at the lake in the RV.  We took the boat, kayaks and bikes with us.  We were loaded with toys and played with them all.  Now I'm home and helping David lay vinyl planks in the house.  I have to sit a lot, but I'm definitely worth the money.  I'm an  excellent assistant.  Tomorrow, I go to physical therapy for my hips.  Wednesday, I go back to the oncologist.  My foot is still giving me grief and I'm trying to find someone to help me with that issue.  I have a couple of new lumps under my arm that are a bit worrisome, but she'll check me over well.  I have blood work on Wednesday and will get info on starting the chemo drug again. My back stimulator isn't doing squat, so I need to make an appointment for that, also.  Geez.  I went to the dollar store a few weeks ago and bought 4 pair of readers.  I have them all over the house.  I should have done thi...
6/11/22 It's Saturday.  I've been drinking and taking pain meds, so this is a perfect time to update my blog.  My gout is not gone.  It's been 2-1/2 weeks and I'm distressed.  It's better, but that may be because of the alcohol and pain meds tonight.  Who knows?  The instructions that came with this Rx say: "This prescription is used to prevent gout flare ups in adults".  The very next line  says: " It is not known if this prescription is safe and effective for the treatment of gout."  What the heck?  I know today it wasn't better, because I've been packing the RV in substantial pain.  Hence, the alcohol and pain meds tonight.....  We'll see about tomorrow.  I have loaded very little food and we're supposed to leave at noon tomorrow.  Yeah, right.  David has been getting the boat ready, mowing the lawn, etc., so I've been doing it alone.  We won't have internet, so ya'll are gonna miss me till next we...
6/7/22 It's Tuesday.  I ended up sleeping in the recliner for 3 nights and the last night wasn't half bad.  I'm back in my own bed now, tho, and it's delightful.  My gout isn't gone and I called the doctor.  She called in something else, but they're having issues with my insurance company, so this is day two with it waiting at the pharmacy to be filled.  No drugs again today.  Maybe tomorrow.....  I went to the hospital today for a bilateral breast MRI.  I've had MRI's before, but never this kind.  What a contraption.  Medieval torture device, is more like it.  Gads.  And I thought the radiation treatment table was bad.  They had me tied down, upside down, like a hog.  Well, it felt like it, anyway.  Plus, they were running late and I waited 2 hours for the thing to actually begin.  I was sooo tired sitting in the waiting room, and sooo glad I didn't let David take me.  That would have been horri...
6/4/22 It's Saturday.  My gout is getting better, but very slowly.  I wish it would hurry up and scram.  Thursday, I went to the orthopedic surgeon and he confirmed the bursitis in both hips.  He gave me an injection in each hip and told me to take it easy for a few days.  He did not have any Snoopy bandaids, but I asked.  I slept in the the recliner for the past 2 nights, as ordered.  I cannot sleep on my side for a few days.  The first night was a disaster.  I slept for about 4 hours.  The blue ray machine kept coming on all by itself.  The lights would flash and then every ten seconds, it would moan.  Exactly 10 seconds.  I could NOT figure out how to turn it off, so I went into the bedroom and woke David.  He was not a happy camper, but was very patient.  He came out and tried everything I already had and then we ended up moving the entire cabinet forward so he could sneak behind the TV and unplug the ...
6/1/22   It's June!  It's Wednesday.  I turned over the page on my calendar and it says:  Vacation - Your periodic reminder that you'd rather stay home. I'm not so sure I agree.  I love vacation.  Which, translated, means, "I love retirement".  I'm always on vacation.  I do like to go places, tho.  We're going camping in 1-1/2 weeks, by the way.  Not too far from home, so we can come back and get the boat.  It'll sit right beside our RV on the lake for 5 days, and I intend to do some fishing.  We're taking the kayaks, too, so I'll give that a shot again.  I used to love it and could travel swiftly and efficiently.   I was riding my recumbent bike every other day and going 8 miles or so, but my right foot starting hurting last Friday.  Saturday, I was limping, Sunday, I was near tears, Monday, I was on my knee scooter.  Tuesday, everyone was back at work and I called the doctor and asked her ...
