6/1/22

It's June!  It's Wednesday.  I turned over the page on my calendar and it says:  Vacation - Your periodic reminder that you'd rather stay home.

I'm not so sure I agree.  I love vacation.  Which, translated, means, "I love retirement".  I'm always on vacation.  I do like to go places, tho.  We're going camping in 1-1/2 weeks, by the way.  Not too far from home, so we can come back and get the boat.  It'll sit right beside our RV on the lake for 5 days, and I intend to do some fishing.  We're taking the kayaks, too, so I'll give that a shot again.  I used to love it and could travel swiftly and efficiently.

I was riding my recumbent bike every other day and going 8 miles or so, but my right foot starting hurting last Friday.  Saturday, I was limping, Sunday, I was near tears, Monday, I was on my knee scooter.  Tuesday, everyone was back at work and I called the doctor and asked her to send in something for gout.  I figure that's what it is, but I'm not positive.  I began taking it last night and my foot is much better today.  Hooray!  I can walk!  It's still painful, but I don't need the scooter.

We had a houseful this past weekend and Courtney and Warren are still here.  He turned 6 on Sunday.  They will be going home tomorrow, so the house will be quiet again.  We still have concrete floors because the new flooring hasn't come in yet.  Probably next week...

My cough is gone.  The pulmonologist (that has way too many letters in it) doubled my reflux meds, so that took care of it.  I'm a bit disappointed that I need them again.  I had a Nissen Fundiplication (sp?) performed years ago, and my reflux went away.  They tied the top portion of my stomach to the bottom section of my esophagus so it's now a one-way street.  I can't even burp any more, so I'm not sure why the reflux is still there.  I do know my stomach produces a lot of acid.  It's very good at it.

Tomorrow, I have an appointment to get the injections in the bursa of both hips.  That'll be fun.  Next Tuesday, I go in for my MRI's.  Then I have a week off.  (That's for camping)  After we get back, it's time for the cancer center for labs and exam.  I need another infusion at the center soon, too, but it'll probably be near the end of the month.

The labs my internist performed came back nearly normal.  Magnesium was a tad low.  How do you bring that up and who cares?  I figure I need chocolate.  I'm fixing the levels myself.

I'm wearing my pressure suit 2 hours/day now.  It helps, but the fluid just comes right back.  I do my exercises all during the day now, sporatic times, to try and help it a bit more.  It feels better that way.

I went line dancing last night, so you know I'm definitely feeling better!  It was my first time - I'd never done it before.  Well, actually, it was a roadside sobriety test.  Same thing.  Duh.
