  11/28/22 Today is Monday.  We had a wonderful time camping and got back in time to host 10 for Thanksgiving dinner the next day.  Our house was full and it was delightful.  I love having the kids home and all the games we play together.  Everyone was gone by Sunday and the house seemed awfully quiet.  They helped us move beds and get all the Christmas decorations out of the attic before they left.  I even had help putting some stuff up.  It was wonderful!  We got the outside lights up yesterday and tweaked them today.  My house is truly festive now.  David and I bought a new bed and it should be delivered on Wednesday.  We moved beds around so that our 4th bedroom got converted from junk room to junk room/guest room.  We now have 3 guest bedrooms, so people - come visit. My nephew and his family were flying in from Alaska and were scheduled to arrive today and stay for a week.  I was really looking forward to their ...

  11/18/22 It’s Friday. I’ve been on steroids all week for my foot, and some days I think it helps a lot. Other days, not so much. Just not so sure what’s wrong with it. No one has called to schedule an MRI or anything else, for that matter. I’ll worry about it after Thanksgiving, I reckon. Kids are coming in tonight and will help us pack the RV tomorrow. We are leaving Sunday to go camping and won’t be home until Wednesday afternoon. If I remember correctly, this state park has very poor, or no cell service. There will be no Internet. That’s a gimme. So, I will not be posting until I get home. I have made a massive list of things to load so everyone can help me tomorrow. The trips from the house into the RV are difficult. The stairs on the RV are difficult, too. So, if I can just stay inside and unpack everything, it will be a breeze. It has frozen the past couple of nights, but it does not look like it’s going to freeze while we are camping. It’s going to be very chilly, though. ...

  11/13/22 Two years ago today was Friday the 13th. That’s the day my cancer was confirmed. I got a call on my cell phone when I was in a parking lot. So, I’m a little bit down in the dumps today. I am Magine as the day progresses, I will perk up. My right foot is giving me grief again and it’s difficult to walk. I went to the podiatrist this week, hoping he could help me. Apparently not yet. He is communicating with my oncologist and hoping to run some more tests on my foot. They are probably scheduling an MRI and I will be called in to do it again. He said there are usually two causes for what I have. Overuse and cancer. Well, I haven’t run any marathons lately, so that wasn’t very good news. I’m holding out for some thing else – a different diagnosis – something they can fix. He didn’t look very hopeful, however. But, I tend to get weird stuff, so we’ll just wait and see.   11/3/22 I went to the oncologist yesterday. I had blood work done and then saw her. I told her I stopped my medicine because the side effects were making me miserable. She said she kind of expected it and did not give me any grief. I had an exam And I told her I was having an ultrasound, mammogram, biopsy, and an exam at MD Anderson on December 5. She will get the results of everything I do down there. I can’t seem to keep the pockets of fluid on the move lately. The fluid is pooling up and is quite painful. My red count went up a little bit, so that is good. However, it is still too low. My white count went down instead of up. Poop. It’s been a month and a half since I had blood work, so I was really hoping for an improvement. I won’t have blood work till I go down to MD Anderson now. I will have an infusion in January and I don’t go back to see her until March 6. I’m supposed to call if I need her before then. I have another broken rib. I don’t know how I did it, but it hurts a...
