Today is Saturday.  I have just been informed by a daughter that it's been too long since I updated my blog.  I'm fine.  My earache is getting better, but it's not gone.  I had to cancel last Wednesday's PT appointment because the roads were too icy.  When I called, they said no one was there, anyway.  Our weather went beserko this past week.  It was freezing and raining and sleeting.  Our trees and power lines were bogged down with so much ice that everything was breaking.  We got SO lucky that we didn't lose power.  There are people all around us that haven't had power in the last 4 days, and it has been so cold!  It is like we are in an electricity island.  Our subdivision is fine... so far.  I just heard another transformer blow about 10 minutes ago.  David has gone out with his chain saw again to help people with all their downed trees and limbs.  We haven't had mail, either.  It's all stuck in Dallas.  We checked on lots of friends to make sure they were ok, and they either had power or had generators going.

I have PT on Monday and Wednesday this week, and then we leave on Thursday for Houston for my appt. at MD Anderson.  I'm having another MRI on Friday morning.  They said it will take 2 hours for this one, but that includes all the time for the IV, etc.  They will have the results quickly and I will get a call from my surgeon on Monday afternoon.  She will explain everything at that time.  Monday is my birthday, so she will have nothing but good news, I'm sure.  I'm pretty sure it's a rule, or something.

I'm still exercising and it's still not helping much.  I do not go to the gym with David.  I have a good reason - my favorite machine at the gym is the vending machine.

It's truly a mystery why my exercise isn't helping much.  It's a bit discouraging, to say the least.  Want to know another mystery?  Too bad.  I'm going to tell you anyway.  Well, it's a mystery, so I'm going to ask, rather than tell.  Why did Kamikaze pilots wear helmets? Yeah, you don't know, either.

1/10/25 It's Friday.  2025.  Holy cow.  When I was a kid, I thought in 2025 we'd be living in space or something and robots would be our maids.  Like Rosy, on the Jetsons.  This is gonna be a nutshell post: I had several doctor appoints since I last wrote.   6/16/25 I’m back. By a show of hands, everyone that loves my charts, and patient portals, etc. raise those hands high! Hmmmm, I see none going up. I have sent messages on my patient portal on several occasions and heard nothing back. So, I call the office and leave a message, because you never get a real person the first time. No one calls me back. I think I might drive to the office tomorrow. ….. sigh. On a good note, my ctDNA test came back negative. Hooray! And I go back to MD Anderson in Houston in two months. I have an endoscopy in three weeks. I see my rheumatologist in two days. I need to get my dermatologist to take a look at my head. It’s been five weeks since she cut that open and it still has not healed. It’s still scabby and bloody. So, I still cannot get in the pool. And I have to stay out of the sun.   12/16/24 It's Monday.  Today is my daughter Stacy's birthday.   I was supposed to get my glasses last Monday, then Wednesday, then Thursday - they finally came in.  I was chastised for calling in to get the status when I'd signed up for text messaging, however, I never got a text message.  Ever.  They lied to me 3 times about why they were late.  About why it took 25 friggin' days to get them, etc.  They think nothing about lying to customers at the optical department of Sam's Club.  I dislike them so much that I would be willing to unplug them from life support just so I could charge my cell phone. So, now I wea bi-focals.  I have not gotten used to them yet.  My close-up vision is much better, but my distance vision...... not so much.  David says I just need to get used to them.  Of course, this advice is coming from a man that sat down to eat breakfast and thought his toast was too cold.  Any reasonable pers...
