3/27/23  It's Monday.  I'm happy about my haircut.  Apparently, she didn't cut enough off to remove all the curls.  It'll take some getting used to and when it grows out a bit more, I'll cut more chemo hair off.  I took my neighbor to a church concert last night.  It was wonderful.  Turns out, I knew the singer.  He's my podiatrist.  He also has his own band and they sing mostly country/western.  David and I follow them so we can dance.  He doesn't look the same in church as he does on the stage.  I never knew he was even in the band!  He gave me a cd when the show was over.  I barely made it to the concert in time.  I was helping a friend and the time slipped away from me.

I spent a good portion of the day today trying on summer clothes, swimsuits, etc.  I had no idea what still fit and what didn't.  I started laying out stuff in the spare bedroom and making lists.  I won't be able to bend over for a few weeks because of my cataract surgery and we're leaving on a 12 day cruise on the 14th.  Well, that's the day we're flying to Miami.  We actually sail the next day.  I found all my cruising gadgets, so it will be a lot easier to pack now.  Snorkel gear is going to take up a lot of room and David won't be able to swim with his arms.  He'll have to kick a lot.

I'm going to help a friend again tomorrow for awhile and then gather stuff for Wednesday.  I'll have to take all my spinal implant crap for my brain MRI.  It's not until 4:00 p.m. and I won't need a driver.  I'll have an IV, but no drugs to interfere with driving.

David was thrilled when I told him the eye doctor called today and told me my surgery is scheduled for 6:35 a.m. on Thursday morning.  My follow-up is Friday at 7:15 a.m.  I have to have a driver for both appointments...  He'll probably take a nap in the car.  His shoulder is still giving him grief and he's having a lot of trouble sleeping.

I signed us up for 4 excursions on the islands and we'll wing it the rest of the time.  Two of them say 'comfortable shoes, lot of walking, including 50 stairs'.  NOW they tell me.  I hope I can walk that far.  Gads.  And, you just can't trust stairs...

They're always up to something.

I've decided to stop calling the bathroom 'John'.  I'm now calling it 'Jim'.  So, now I go to the 'Jim' quite regularly.  Sounds most impressive when I tell people I go to the gym every day.

Oh, my goodness.  I nearly forgot to tell ya'll something!  A girlfriend came over Friday evening and we were chatting, laughing, and drinking wine.  Several glasses, as it turns out.  We were sitting out on the lawn swing when she said, "If I had an affair with David and I got pregnant and we had a baby, would that make us cousins?"  I was a bit shocked and told her "Of course not, but it would make us even".

Now, that's funny.

Gads, I love my own jokes.
