12/8/23

My eye is healing up pretty well, but my vision is not coming back as hoped.  The doctor is stumped and is sending me to a retina specialist.  Again.  My vision is 20/50 in one eye and 20/60 in the other.  Unacceptable.  I am getting SO tired of this.  I had cataract surgery last March and I still can't see as well as I did prior to surgery.

We went camping the week prior to Thanksgiving and then camped south of Houston over the holiday.  We had a good time, but I caught a virus and didn't feel very well the last few days of the trip.  I cut myself on my left arm and it got inflamed and bled under the skin like crazy.  I looked like I had some horrible disease or something.  My lymph nodes were working overtime and barely keeping up, but they hung in there and I finally healed.  The virus, however, turned into a sinus infection and I was pretty miserable for about 2 weeks.  Really wore me down.  I still have a cough that I can't shake.

12/4, I went to MD Anderson for an exam, mammogram and ultrasound.  It was a good visit, but they can't see the spot that shows up on MRIs, so I'm having another one in February.

This coming Wednesday, 12/13, I see my oncologist and will have another CTDNA blood test.  This is the big one, so I'll have results a week or 10 days later.  If it shows negative, and if my MRI in February is good, I'll believe I'm truly good for awhile.  I'll have to have regular checkups and tests, but this could be really good.

We are going camping with Courtney and Warren during his Christmas break and all the girls will be home for Christmas again this year.  It's hard to believe that not so long ago, I thought I may not have another Christmas with my family, and yet, here I am.  I'm still not wasting my minutes, either.  David and I are flying to Lake Tahoe the end of January for 4 days.  If anyone wants to join us, come on!

Every year I ask the same riddle.  Does anyone remember it?

What do you call Santa's helpers?

Subordinate Clauses.

Ho, Ho, Ho.
