It's Friday. I thought I wrote about 2 weeks ago and it's been over a month. Sorry. My bad. David and I are flying out of Shreveport this afternoon on a casino charter flight, so this is gonna be short and sweet. I hope.
I had a colonoscopy from Hell - I'm not ever doing one of those again. David had one and passed with flying colors. Me? Ha. I've seen my eye doctor several times and he referred me to another retina specialist. That was pretty much a waste of my time because he said he doesn't know why my right eye isn't healing. He said "sometimes we just don't know". Perfect. He sent me back to my regular guy and I have an appointment there in a couple weeks. The vision in my right eye is 20/70. That's not good.
I saw my oncologist and my ctDNA test came back negative, so I don't have to have another one of those until April. That was good news.
We flew to Denver for a surprise party in December and when we landed back in Dallas, I just couldn't get my right ear to 'pop'. It hurt like a buggar. I saw a 'Doc in the Box' over the weekend, but he couldn't help me. I saw my primary care doctor the next week and she referred me to an ENT guy. He says my tubes are swollen and blocking my efforts to get relief, so he gave me some stuff today to take before our flight to Lake Tahoe. David and I are on a casino charter and will be home on Tuesday afternoon. I am a bit worried about my ear, but I'm not passing this trip up. I will have a hearing test next week.
I went to see my hip doctor about my bursitis but he said he couldn't give me more shots in my hips. He gave me an Rx and I filled it and took it to physical therapy. They put patches on my hips with tiny batteries in them and injected medicine onto the patch. I wear them for 24 hours and then they put them back on during my next visit. I will go twice/week until I'm all better. We'll see how that works. The same doctor gave me a referral to his own back doctor to see if he could help me with my back. I sat in the waiting room for an hour when the nurse came out and said the doctor won't see me. What?!? The nurse said he looked over my chart and is unable to do anything that hasn't already been done. So, I drove home. It was a great day. I need to find a spine doctor, but am not sure where to start. I'm not going to worry about it until I get home. Phooey.
We took Courtney and Warren camping for 5 days after Christmas and my bike broke. My back and hips won't allow me to hike, but my bike doesn't hurt at all. So, that was kind of a disappointment. David has since ordered the parts and repaired it for me. He's so good to me.
I have another infection that I can't seem to get rid of, but the doctor said my immune system is the culprit. I have several tests in the coming weeks, including an MRI at MD Anderson. I promise I won't wait as long to update this blog next time.
That's it in a nutshell.
