I went to my new oncologist today. My old one retired and left me with Katrina Glover, M.D. I like her and we got along great. She has a wonderful sense of humor and likes to laugh. Of course, I told her a story. She said she wanted one at every visit. Little does she know......
She ordered a chest x-ray and one of my left leg. Two tender spots we can't figure out. My leg has been giving me a lot of grief this week and sleep has been hard to come by. Not sure when those will be scheduled and I have a busy week next week. I have to go to Shreveport for my eye appointment on Tuesday and I see my cardiologist on Thursday. David and I will be leaving on Monday afternoon for Louisiana and will come back Wednesday morning. My appointment is supposed to last approx. 4 hours and I will be dilated.
She said my blood clots are still there and to just be patient with my recovery. Right. Patient. Sure. My heart is still going boopity-boo and I can't slow it down. It went pretty high when I got home and stayed there for almost 45 minutes. I got shaky. My white count in the hospital was 10.9. It's never been that high. Today, it's 2.9. Geez. She said I was fighting an infection and that's why it went up so high. Now, I'm back down to my regular low. Too low, of course. A couple of other things were off a bit, but she wasn't concerned, so I'm not, either. They took about 23 gallons of blood today for my ctDNA test and I should have those back in a week or so. I go down to MD Anderson in 2 weeks, so I hope to have them back by then.
Do you ever brush your teeth and let your mind wander? Then forget what you already brushed? At what location do you keep going? Did you brush the entire bottom and top, or just one level? Do you back up and start over, or quit and hope you got 'em all? Hmm? I just started all over again this morning. Why take a chance..... I saw myself at the doctors office using my tongue to feel my teeth and the top felt gritty, then panicking. Agh! My breath is gonna stink - what's stuck in my front teeth?! My teeth are gonna feel awful until I get home. Hence, the overkill with the toothbrush. Fess up. Some of you have got to do that, too.
