8/12/24 - Monday
I have neglected to write for awhile. My bad. I went to the doctor for my hospital follow-up last Thursday. She said the same thing the nurse did - I'm too impatient. I gotta give it more time. Sigh. I'm tired of giving it more time. I'm still coughing up green stuff, but she said that was good. I'm getting it out of my lungs. yay.
I rode my recumbent bike 5.5 miles yesterday and walked in the pool 500 yards. I should've stopped at 400. I did too much and paid for it last night. My legs were aching - big time. I'm staying inside and out of the heat unless I'm in the pool or just getting the mail or something. I water my plants in the backyard in the evening after the sun sets. I don't even get in the pool until it's all in the shade. The pool was 96 degrees the other day. Gads. I'm not exercising today. Taking a day off to let my legs get back to normal. My heart rate is still about 30 beats a minute too high, but my oxygen is up to 96 most of the day now. My chest still gives me grief a bit, but even that's better every day. My vision is a bit better, but still sucks. My taste is coming back, along with my sense of smell. I still don't do much and am tired a lot. My recliner is my best friend. I can see to cross-stitch now, but I make a lot of mistakes and have to go back and fix them. It keeps me occupied, so I do it anyway. I can read the newspaper with my cheaters on now, too.
I go see my oncologist this Friday and will have my ctDNA test again. I do it every 3 months now. I go down to MD Anderson the end of the month for more tests and exams. I'm supposed to go to Shreveport my my eye exam, but I'm not sure my eyes will be healed enough by then, or not. We'll see. Get it? We'll see. Ha! I should have used a bigger font for this post because I can barely see what I've written. Oh, well.
The other day when I got in the pool, I had a bit of trouble getting my suit on. The straps on the top piece got all tangled up and I was struggling to get into the dang thing. I was awfully close to having to call 911 when I finally got everything straightened up. I was breathing so hard I decided to take my pulse. 135. I found my new exercise program. Just put on my swim suit. No need to ride a bike or walk in the pool. I'll just put it on and take it off a couple of times each day and watch the pounds drop off. I'll let you know how it goes.
