8/25/24 - Sunday
I haven't heard from anyone to schedule my x-rays or MRI, nor have I heard any results from my blood test 1-1/2 weeks ago. I need to know those results before I leave for MD Anderson this Thursday. I went to the cardiologist last Thursday. They listened and I had an EKG - again. They love to do those. They get a whole 6 seconds of information from those things. They must be wonderful. They spend 20 minutes hooking me up and taking everything off for that tid bit of info. It truly must be priceless. Well, since 6 seconds isn't quite enough for them, they gave me a heart monitor to wear for 2 weeks - only, I can't put it on until I'm done with all the MRIs and crap first. They can't do an ultrasound with it on, either, so I'll have to give it a go after I get home from Houston. My heart will be beating normally by then and I'll have to stay out of the pool for 2 weeks for nothing. This is gonna be great. I had one put inside me the end of 2020, but I had to take it out after only a month because that's when they found my cancer and I had to start treatment. Back then, I noticed they typed in 'cardiac infarction' in my file. I figured it was just a typo, cause I've never had a heart attack. Well, guess what?!? Now my file says I've had 2 'cardiac infarctions'. I told my oncologist once that I'd never know if I had a heart attack or not because every time I had a hot flash, it would start with chest pain. It woke me up at night every time. Chest pain equaled 'get up and pee cause you're gonna start sweating heavily in just a moment'. I had tons of them. So, was one of them when it occurred? I have another appointment with my cardiologist after we get the results of the heart monitor, so I reckon we can discuss it then. My heart doesn't go bippitty-boo quite as often now (at least at rest), and my blood pressure is more stable. My oxygen stays pretty much at 96, so I reckon I'm healing up nicely. My voice is back to normal and I don't cough nearly as much, either. I'm turning the page.
