11/11/24 - Monday

Today was not my best day, but it was a Monday...

I slept lousy last night, so they day started out icky.  I had to go to pool physical therapy this morning, so headed out the door on time, only to find they had my route closed for 'utility work'.  Ok, backtrack and find another road.  I made it to my appointment on time, so that was good.  They filled the pool a bit full this time and I could barely touch the bottom on tippy-toe.  That made it difficult to gain any traction walking my laps.  I mostly stood in place.  sigh.  When I was done, I climbed back in my car and a spider came down from the roof on his web into my lap.  I was hoping no one was watching me doing my 'spider antics'.  When I got home, my legs were stuck to my seat.  I wasn't wet, but my skin was damp and it felt like I was peeling my skin off the seat - inch by inch.  I put on one of David's fishing shirts and a pair of spandex capris.  Well, I attempted to put them on.  I got one leg in and my foot got stuck and I crashed against the wall.  I regained my composure and got my foot thru.  Next, the second foot.  That one got stuck, too.  The damp skin was hampering my progress a great deal.  Now, I've got my pants 1/2 on and 1/2 off and I can't get unstuck.  I hopped to the bench and sat down to do it.  I can't remember the last time I actually hopped.  It wasn't pretty.  My toenails need trimmed and are soft from an hour in the pool, so I sit down on my 7" step beside the tub to do the deed.  I have my cell phone beside me, the clippers, and a tissue to catch the trimmings.  All set.  I get the first foot done and the tissue full of clippings sticks to my foot (damp foot) and they go flying.  Now, I've got toenail clippings all over the bathroom floor.  I get up and gather the mess and my cell phone rings.  I answer it, set it on the counter and go back down to the floor to do my second foot.  I'm 1/2 way done and my cell phone rings again - except I left it on the counter by mistake.  I get back up off the floor again, but I missed the call.  The caller ID said 'potential spam'.  Arrghhh!  Now, I have to get back  on the floor, finish, and get back up.  Ugh.  The day is barely 1/2 over and I'm already frustrated.

This afternoon, the eye doctor's office manager called me.  She said he would refund my money, but wanted me to sign a release and he would not give me a pair of glasses.  I told her I'd call her back after I talked to David.  I don't want to sue, but I'm disappointed.  Not sure what to do.  I welcome suggestions/opinions.

And to top off the day - no roofer has shown up yet.  3 of them said they'd 'be there tomorrow'.  Tomorrow will be 8 days with a hole in our roof.  I'm ready to go to bed, but it's not even 7 p.m. yet.
