11/2/25
I haven't posted anything for 5 months, but I've been told by my daughter to get crackin'.
I had surgery on May 8th to remove Melanoma from my arm and a spot on my cheek. I had surgery on May 13th to remove Squamous Cell Carcinoma (stage 2) from the top of my head. I had a bit of a bald spot for a few months, but only people taller than me would possibly notice it. I'm 5' 1" now. So, see? No one noticed.
On July 7th, I had an Endoscopy to rule out some stuff and see if my fundoplication was still intact. It was. I'm back on heartburn medicine even tho the fundoplication should prevent that. Apparently, I'm really good at producing stomach acid. If you're gonna do something, do it right.......
I've had a bit of heart trouble the past few months and have had regular visits with my cardiologist. My heart likes to occasionally act as if I'd just finished a marathon, even tho I'm sitting my recliner. Oh, well. My blood pressure has been dropping a bit too much, so now I take a reading 3 times a day. On July 23rd, I had a CT scan of my heart and it turns out, I still have one.
On August 14th, I went to Houston to be there for several appointments on the 15th. I had a mammogram, an ultrasound, and an appointment with my surgeon and everything checked out well. I still have a few questionable spots, but they have not grown any, so I was set free for a year, unless something pops up.
On September 5th, I saw my ophthalmologist and got new glasses. Vision is worsening, unfortunately.
On September 11th, I saw my cardiologist and they did an ultrasound of my legs to test for a blood clot. No clot, but something is amiss because my legs are swelling. Some days I cannot get my shoe on my right foot. They told me to go see my primary care doctor.
On September 15th, I saw my arthritis guy and he sent me to a spine specialist. The specialist told me there was nothing he could do that hadn't already been done. I left that appointment with my spirit broken. That was tough to hear.
I had an appointment with my primary care doctor about my legs/feet swelling and she sent me to a different cardioloogy clinic to have a special ultrasound done. I did that on September 30th. I can't remember what it was called, but it was difficult and painful. I don't care to repeat that test anytime soon. However, it showed the problem with my legs. My valves are broken. So sad. They do not operate as intended and are letting my blood pool instead of allowing it to return to my heart. Soooo, this coming Friday, 11/7, I will go to a different clinic for a procedure to repair my right leg. If it works, after 3 weeks, I'll have the left leg done.
My swollen legs didn't stop me from traveling in the interim, however. I flew to Boise for a week, came home for a funeral, and then flew with my daughter to Lake Tahoe for 5 days. They got their first snow of the season while we were there and it was gorgeous.
The top of m head feels suspicious, so I'm going back to the dermatologist to check for cancer again on November 12th.
I go back to the ophthalmologist again on November 17th. He wants to see me quite regularly because I appear to be losing my vision. I'm on my 3rd prescription in 10 months. Something behind my eyes appears to be the culprit, but apparently nothing can be done. May have been caused by my chemo. This is not good.
Good gravy, Miss Daisy! I should never wait this long to write. I have learned my lesson.
David and I are going to Las Vegas on December 8th for 5 days. I got tickets to the National Finals Rodeo and I'm so excited for that trip! I love that rodeo! So, if anyone wants to head to Vegas, we'll be glad to hook up with you!
