12/20/22 Today is Tuesday. Yesterday was one for the books, for sure. I got up at noon, was up two hours, then took a two hour nap, was up two hours, then took another two hour nap. I was up for three hours, then went to bed for the night. David asked me if I was going to go to bed already and I said “yes, I’ve been awake for seven hours!”. I slept for 9 1/2 hours last night, and I’m ready for another nap now. He has gone to meet Courtney to pick up our six year old grandson, so I better get my nap in now. I’m going to need it. He’s going to stay with us until New Year’s. Tranquilizers only work if you follow the advice on the label: keep away from children. He keeps us hopping for sure. I feel my age when he’s around. I am getting old. You know you’re getting old, when they discontinue your blood type. My oncologist called today and set up an appointment for me to have my January infusion. I will have it when I get back from MD Anderson in Houston. The sarcoma specialist o...

12/18/22 It’s Sunday. I thought I had this crud licked, but I’m not so sure now. I’m not nearly as tired, and didn’t even take a nap today, but my throat is more sore than ever. I’m ready to get rid of this stuff. It’s been weeks now. David made me some chicken vegetable soup tonight and it hit the spot. It’s been chilly the past few days and tomorrow is supposed to be raining and cold. I’m not going anywhere. We got our Christmas cards out in the mailbox today, so I’m not even going out there to mail them. It’s that time of year for Christmas parties. There are two kinds of people at parties. Those that want to go home, and those that want to stay and party some more. The trouble is, they’re usually married to each other.

12/16/22 I’m feeling a bit better, but not great. Can’t seem to shake this crap. I take a nap every day and sometimes twice a day. I got my stitches out yesterday and it feels better now. My surgeon called me this morning to explain my biopsy results. They don’t know why it turned red and got hot, but they told me two things it might be. Lymphedema is one cause. My lymphatic system may not be capable of carrying the fluid away. The second cause is sarcoma. They are going to book an appointment with the sarcoma specialist at MD Anderson in Houston in January. I’m going to begin lymphedema physical therapy again beginning next week.

12/14/22 Today is Wednesday. The last couple of days have been a bit rough. When folks come over, I buck up and act normal for a little while. As soon as they leave, I am wiped out. I’m still glad we have company, though. It gives me something to look forward to and I enjoy it very much. I have a cough, I am extraordinarily tired, and my head is foggy. I’ve taken two home Covid tests, a week and a half apart, and they were both negative. So, I just have some crud. I slept 14 hours a couple of days ago. I go to sleep every day, sometimes standing up. I thought that would be impossible, but it’s not. My head is too foggy to do my Crosstitch, and I can’t keep my eyes open long enough, anyway. I’ve managed to do laundry today and do some baking, but I am so very tired. OK, I just fell asleep writing this post. Geez. I’m awake now and will finish. I hope. I just hope I don’t hit the send button before I’m finished. I got my test results from my biopsy. They hit my chart last night. I ...

12/9/22 Today is Friday. We got home yesterday afternoon. We planned on making a couple of stops on the way home, but that plan got nixed. I wasn’t feeling well and made David stop three times in the last 45 minutes of travel. He waited patiently in the car, as always. Last night and this morning we’re no picnic, either. I’m feeling better this afternoon, so I reckon it has passed. I am getting my stitches out next Thursday. I made the appointment today. I have not heard anything about my MRI, though. I’m still expecting a call the first part of next week about my biopsy. I have a phone call appointment on Friday with the surgeon in Houston at MD Anderson. She wants to follow up with me. I slept 7 1/2 hours straight last night without moving, or even getting up to pee. I love my new bed. David asked if I wanted to go to the movie theater tonight and I said no. That particular theater does not allow licensed concealed weapons. I will never go in there again. My thought...

12/6/22 Today is Tuesday. We drove to Houston on Saturday, and babysat our grandson on Sunday. Courtney and Ryan are training for the Houston marathon and Sunday was their day to run 18 miles. It was nice we were here so they could run together. The marathon is in January. We will come back to babysit again. Monday morning David drove me to MD Anderson for my mammogram and ultrasound. Once again, I studied hard for these tests. All my effort paid off. Both tests were clear. I had an appointment with the surgeon afterwards, and she decided I should come back to have bloodwork, a biopsy, and an MRI. Well, poop. One of the sisters is dark red and it has spread down my arm, too. It’s hot to the touch, so I’m thinking infection. She’s not so sure. Consulted with other doctors and they decided to opt for the additional tests. I had labs this morning, followed by the biopsy. They are trying to schedule the MRI at the downtown hospital, so I’m waiting ...

12/2/22 It's Friday. The date is kinda cool today, isn't it? 12222. I'm starting to get over the crud I caught. Sleeping is still hard cause of all the junk in my throat, but it's getting better and that's all that matters. We just got a new bed. A Purple. I love it. The Tempurpedic just wasn't cutting it any more. We're still going to Houston tomorrow and will be back on Thursday. MD Anderson on Monday, then fun stuff the next 2 days. It's rainy today and kind of gloomy, so an afternoon nap is on the schedule.... Something notable happened yesterday, the first day of December. I cut my bangs. Yes, I have bangs long enough to cut. Well, some of them, anyway. My hair is coming in straight now, but the old growth is still curly. I'm just letting it grow - not sure what exactly to do with it yet because there are just so many layers. It's long enough to keep me warm this winter. Sin...
