3/7/26 today is Saturday. I can’t believe it’s been so long since I’ve posted anything. I got pneumonia, got over that, went on a 10 day trip, that included a seven day cruise out of Galveston. Went with a good friend, and I had so much fun. It was absolutely wonderful. I still had a little cough left over, but that was it. I was home three days and caught some thing ugly. Went to the doctor yesterday. She can’t figure out what I’ve got. It’s not pneumonia and it’s not the flu, but I’ve been pretty sick this week. She gave me a steroid shot and I think that gave me a nice boost and I feel a bit better today. Thank goodness. I’m so tired of being sick all the time. I had a chest x-ray yesterday to rule out the Monia and got a little surprise. Turns out I now have scoliosis of the thoracic spine, which is new to me. Also, I have, are you ready? I have diffuse decreased bone mineralization. Basically, that means my bones are not absorbing calcium and vitamin D. Even though I’ve been on very high supplements for several years now. So fractures of the spine may become an issue. Over the years, I have broken my back twice, but I do not look forward to repeating that. My records still have not arrived for my hospital stay on December 10 in Las Vegas. Incompetence, is the first word that comes to my mind. I’ve lost count on how many times I’ve called them and gotten the same answers. My oncologist has called three times, to no avail, either. So, I still have no answers for that. I went to the dermatologist on Monday and I was abused. She froze seven spots and took a biopsy. I will find out next week what the results of that may be. At least all these spots are pretty much hidden, so I don’t look like a Freakazoid. My legs are still swollen and I cannot get my shoes on unless I elevate them for a while first. I reckon that’s just how it’s going to be from now on. So, I don’t think I’m going to be shoe shopping for a while. Just think of all the money, I will save! Right now, I make a fashion statement wherever I go with my flip-flops. Not my pretty ones, mind you, because I can’t get those on. Just my plain old black ones. The ones Courtney’s kitten chewed on. Sigh.
6/16/25 I’m back. By a show of hands, everyone that loves my charts, and patient portals, etc. raise those hands high! Hmmmm, I see none going up. I have sent messages on my patient portal on several occasions and heard nothing back. So, I call the office and leave a message, because you never get a real person the first time. No one calls me back. I think I might drive to the office tomorrow. ….. sigh. On a good note, my ctDNA test came back negative. Hooray! And I go back to MD Anderson in Houston in two months. I have an endoscopy in three weeks. I see my rheumatologist in two days. I need to get my dermatologist to take a look at my head. It’s been five weeks since she cut that open and it still has not healed. It’s still scabby and bloody. So, I still cannot get in the pool. And I have to stay out of the sun. It looks pretty icky on the top of my head, I’m sorry to say. David and I celebrated my good news by going to Shreveport this past weekend. We had a good time. Th...
