3/29/22 It's Tuesday and I'm nearly finished packing.  We leave tomorrow and will be home late on 4/8.  9:59 p.m., to be exact.  Anyone want to visit Tyler's scenic airport at 9:59 p.m. on Friday, 4/8?  If so, please state your name, occupation, and social security number to apply online.  If applying in person, simply text, then show up with enough space in your vehicle for 2 additional adults, 1 suitcase and one carry on bag.  Driver will be compensated for their time.  Maybe lunch.  I'm still thinking about it.  My lovely neighbor has offered to take us tomorrow, so that's good.  She's an angel. I was trying to fit into 2 carry-on bags, but my pressure suit takes up an entire bag, so we'd be left toting 2 more, in addition to that one.  Medical equipment doesn't count as a carry-on, but David would be loaded down.  Then, when I was checking into our flight this afternoon, a notice popped up that David is a la-te-da ca...
3/27/22 Now it's Sunday.  I skipped a day.  I've got to say right up front here, that I'm more than a bit disappointed that not a single person called 'Trixie'.  If the price was too high, you could've asked for a discount.  I'm just sayin'.  Geez. David told me that I woke him up a couple of days ago at 6:00 a.m.  He said I was singing in bed.  He rolled over and looked at me and I was asleep and my mouth was closed.  He said he reckoned I was humming, not actually singing.  I don't recall such a thing and he said he can't remember the tune, so I told him he dreamt the entire ordeal.  He was adamant I was humming.... that's just weird. I got up yesterday at 5:30 and started my day.  I was really thirsty, so I went to the kitchen first and got a glass of orange juice (vitamin C, you know).  I brushed my teeth, showered and dressed and went out to the den where David was sitting, watching the news.  He had been worki...
3/25/22 It's Friday!  Makes no difference to me, but some of you might care... I still feel crappy.  I have a very, deep, sexy voice now.  I can use some spending cash, so I'm gonna offer ya'll an excellent opportunity here.  I'll be going by the name "Trixie" till my voice comes back.  $1.95/minute till 9:00 p.m.  After 9:00, the rate goes up to $2.95/minute.  If you get a busy signal, call back.
3/24/22 It's Thursday.  I woke up feeling pretty puny today.  Feels like a head cold on steroids or something.  My head feels heavy and I'm having a hard time keeping it straight.  It seems too large for my body.  My nose is bleeding and I'm coughing more now.  Geez.  I've got to get rid of this before next Wednesday!  I'm not canceling our trip!  I'm very tired.  Just want to lay down.  It was a very pretty day here, but a bit cool for me to sit outside.  I'm supposed to stay out of the sun anyway.  Poop.  Tomorrow will be a new day. I got too hot one day when we were camping and I paid for it the entire rest of the day, so I'm not eager to do that again.  David worked all day remodeling the guest bathroom.  He's taken everything out, even the tile.  It's a naked little room.  He's been texturing and painting, etc.  We're going to have a whole new look in there.  It'll be so nice....
3/23/22 It's Wednesday now.  One week until we leave for our trip to Florida to sail around the keys for 9 days, or so.  I'm SO excited!  Monday night was horrid.  I was scared most of the night.  The storms were terrifying.  They reminded me too much of Oklahoma.  The girls and I were in quite a pickle up there years ago.  Bad, bad, tornadoes.  We made it through OK, tho.  No damage to speak of at our house this week.  Others were not as lucky. I have good news to share tonight.  I put clean sheets on one of our guest beds, then worked in the kitchen a bit.  Without sitting down.  This is amazing, people!  I think my new stimulator is finally working!  I can make dinner without sitting down in between stirring a pot.  I can empty the dishwasher all at the same time.  No breaks.  This is truly spirit lifting for me.  Truly.  I feel almost normal.  Almost.  Dang near,...
3/21/22 It's Monday.  I haven't written for a week.  I know, I know.  My bad.  I don't have much to write about even now.  We took Courtney and Warren camping last week and had a blast.  No internet.  Lots of smores.  Good times.  I couldn't go hiking, but I went fishing a bit.  I wish my back were better than it appears to be, but they said they wouldn't even program it for 6 weeks.  Again, I still have no patience.  David and I will be leaving next week for Key West so that we can catch our yacht to go sailing.  Heh, heh.  I'm SO excited about that trip!  I will be able to get in the water by then, so I'm taking snorkel gear for sure.  I don't know how much walking I will be able to do while in Key West, tho.  My back isn't that grand yet.  I did have a major breakthrough today, tho.  I put clean sheets on my bed without taking a break to sit down.  That hasn't happened in a very ...
3/14/22 It's Monday and I'm baaaack!  Jessica and I had a wonderful time on our cruise and I'm leaving tomorrow morning to take our grandson camping again.  We'll be home on Friday.  We spent most of the day packing the RV and got most of the stuff loaded before the storm hit.  Whoo-boy!  Did it ever hit!  The sirens were going off in town, the wind was howling and the thunder and lightning were exceptional.  A bit south of us, they had a tornado, but we only lost tree limbs (as far as we know... it's dark outside).  We'll take a peek in the morning, I reckon. This cruise was unique because stuff happened onboard that's never happened to me before.  We stopped in 3 ports, but we had to skip our 4th destination because the wind was blowing too hard.  The captain tried to dock that massive thing twice before he gave up and told us we were moving on.  It was our last day to dock and the day was going to be short on shore, so we ...
3/4/22 Woo-Hoo!  I'm leaving tomorrow for my cruise!!  Who's excited?!?  Who's already all packed?!?  I saw the surgeon today and he said other than the raw, icky, spots where the steri-strips were, everything looks good.  No more bandages, just keep it clean and don't abuse it.  I'd never do that....  No heavy lifting, etc., still.  That's ok.  Jessica will be here this evening and she'll drive us to New Orleans tomorrow.  We'll spend the night at the casino (well-played, right?), and leave in time to board the ship at noon.  Ish.  I'll be back on the 13th.  It's a Sunday and we'll dock early in the morning.  I'll be able to get off the ship with the first round of passengers because I'm Platinum or some other kind of mineral.  I'm just that special.  We'll head back home (7 hours), and she'll discard me at my doorstep and head back to Conroe (another 3 hours).  She'll have a long day. We both g...
3/2/22  It's Wednesday.  This is going to be a turning point kind of day, so I changed my normal typeface.  That'll work, I'm sure.  David took me to the cardiologist today and we were home 4 hours later.  I had 3 tests today.  First, a PET scan of my heart.  My heart was going boopity-boo and she said it's not acting normal.  Well, geez, lady, I reckon that's why I'm here.... They put in an IV for this so they can inject numerous drugs with very long names that do nasty things to your body.  Therefore, I do not recommend receiving this test if at all possible.  The only vein they can find has so much scar tissue that the drugs have trouble traveling into your system.  This requires a nurse to hold your arm straight up in the air while you are strapped down prone on a bone chilling, cold, skinny-ass, table, and your body up to your neck is in a machine that resembles something out of a Star Trek movie.  Then, the nurse s...
3/1/22  It's Tuesday.  I had a very old friend pass away yesterday.  I'm still good friends with her sisters and my thoughts and prayer are headed their way this trying week.  Tomorrow is the day my mom died 7 years ago.  It doesn't seem that long and I still miss her terribly.  She's in my mind so very often.  She died 3 days after we had my sister's funeral service.  That was a hard week.  Sorry for the downers.  I shouldn't have begun with that, I reckon.  I'll just have to say something cheery at the end, so your spirits are raised. I had my eye appointment yesterday.  They dilated my eyes (they told me they were going to), and they said it would last 4-6 hours.  It lasted 14 hours and then I went to bed.  When I woke up, they were normal.  I couldn't see squat all day yesterday.  Now I have to have another test.  It's called a carotid doppler.  The cardiologist scheduled it for later in the mo...
